WOW!
After signing Luca and the bike is getting truly sorted, they now jump ship?
Sounds like Triumph wont be a front now without this happening, guess i am back to pulling for the good old GREEN TEAM!

On the note of Triumph in WSS. One of our local racers, Ronan Quarmby will be rocking a Triumph this year! Booya!

Friggin Italians, I hope this is only a rumor too.

That is not good news at all, Davis was the only really quick guy on the Triumph's and great to watch.
Its about time Triumph found a British Team to run their bikes for them...........

Tiger 800 (Do it all)
1973 Tiger 750 (restored)
BMW S1000rr (the animal)

Sad to see Chaz move on, he definiatly was doing well on the Triumph.
With that said I have to believe HE is better off on the Yamaha and stands a better chance of getting on the podium so it was probably a good career move on his part.
Lets face it, as a racer you want to be on the best equipment possible and on a team that gives you the best chance at winning.

They have done great work with the Triumph but it has to be at it's maximum capability at this point. The bike is essentially unchanged since it's debut in 2006 and I don't know if the teams can get much more out of it (at the WSS level). They have had 5-6 years to tweak on it at this point.

Either way, Chaz seems to be a good guy and I hope he does well what ever he rides.

I just remembered seeing on Twitter that Chaz had some big news lined up for Monday (today)

Some big news to come later today. BIG I tell you!

Announcement coming on Monday now! Anyway, good day today. Finally got the kart out and got a PB lap time in the freezing cold. Feet = ice.
This is probably it! As a career move it's a good thing, but man he was the one person who could really ride that Triumph.

That really stinks in my opinion. Not that Chaz really had any say in the matter... My personal incentive to watch WSS just went way down!!

Best of luck, Chaz.

Seriously though, I think this indicates that Triumph has no real intention of winning anything in WSS. Also as mentioned above... the 675 design is a bit long in the tooth technically.

Great...so now we won't even see a Triumph unless one has a spectacular crash with a Honda, Yamaha, or Kawaski...if they crash on there own it won't be worth showing.

Good news for Chaz though, he'll be on a much more competetive bike, if he could get the 675 on the box imagine what he can do with an R6.

Where you guys been? Been out there since December...

Press release: http://www.be1racing.com/daytona_675_news.php

Truly sucks. No more Factory Triumph.

There are three Triumph riders listed in today's provisional roster, although the MD team is "supposed" to field another bike/rider...

http://motomatters.com/2011/wss/prov...ider-list.html

"While it isn't known whether Triumph will transfer its factory involvement to another team – or withdraw altogether -, the British marque will still be represented in 2011 by Suriano Racing and MD Team Jerman.

The announcement will also raise serious doubts as to whether whether Triumph will go ahead with a much mooted switch to Superbikes in 2012, with BE1 Racing apparently originally earmarked to lead its development programme."

"The Suriano Racing team, headed by ‘veteran' engineer Antonio Suriano, is getting ready to return as a key figure in the SBK Paddock after a couple of year's absence. The team based near Rome is currently finalizing a deal that should see it take part in next year's World Supersport Championship. A return to Supersport will also coincide with the team switching from Suzuki to the British manufacturer Triumph, maintaining at four the number of bikes present in the championship. Once the accord has been finalized, Suriano will then focus on the choice of riders, which will be announced immediately afterwards.
"I have to admit that the project that has been presented to me is a good one and I am really tempted by the idea of taking back my team to World Supersport with Triumph," declared Suriano. "We'll try and sign the deal in the next few days and then we will decide on the riders. The aim is to take part in 2011 with two riders and for the moment the only thing I can say is that I've reached a verbal agreement with Danilo Dell'Omo and Fabrizio Perotti"."
