ok this is not a 675 problem, but i'm thinking i might find some help here.
in may i fried my Tiger 800's ECU. how? i had the battery out of the bike and accidentally dropped it. it wasn't leaking acid, but when i rode the bike a while later, i was smelling sulfur, and under the seat it was 'smoking.' it was sulfur gas escaping the battery case. the bike died before i got home and would not light up again. unfortunately, the main fuse was fine, which lead me to almost strip the harness of all it's connections to find the electrical problems. i determine that both the ECU and the instrument panel were shorted inside somehow (each would blow a separate fuses when plugged in). i picked up a used ecu and a used dash. now the fuses don't blow, and i get lights, and i can read the ecu with a diag tool. this brings me to my current issue.
tiger 800 ecu swapped with an ecu from a different tiger 800. two error codes come up, "unmatched ABS" and "unmatched immobiliser."
does anyone know of a trusty and knowledgeable Triumph Service Tech/Manager that i can talk to? i'm now working for a small performance shop and we have the TEXA diag tool and software. i think my solution lies in the "add key" or "synchronize keys" option but i'm not about to try without some guidance. i'm just trying to do what i can myself before submitting to the dealership. so if you know a good Authorized Triumph guy, please let us exchange contact info.
P.S. my lovely 07 D675 is doing fine, i did have to forego the stator to r/r connector for crimp connectors, but it's still my most reliable bike.
