Here's mine, I got in memory of my dad.

Before any of you wise guys ask questions, let me say a few things:
1. Yes I know what it means, and its not Love/Peace/Serenity... It's our family name (Goh)
2. No you wont find it in a tattoo shop, had it made by a traditional chinese calligraphist.

Budo, You must have a high tolerance for pain. I was thinking about a skull tat, but after getting the ink around the breastplate and nipples I decided against it. I need to take some of the chest glowing. The outline of Oogie and Jack's heads glow.

Remember it's the thought that counts........................

The reason? Several...

I didn't want to just get it in any typical spots, i felt that this would mean more to me than just a regular tattoo. I also chose the back of my head because i can simply grow my hair over it (like it is now) for future professional reasons.

Why tattoo if people can't see it?

Because i don't care if nobody else gets to see it or not. I got it to kind of to "carry" the family name for my dad. It's an Asian thing. So as long as i know it is there, it's good enough for me.

And the last reason, at the time i thought that the pain of getting it on my skull would make it a somewhat more memorable/meaningful moment. Kinda like how certain cultures undergo painful procedures as a rite of passage. But oddly enough, it did not hurt... It literally felt like someone was scratching my head with a toothpick for an hour. When they were filling it in (after the outline), i actually fell asleep because the buzzing was somewhat soothing.

My dad passed away in October of 2004, of liver failure. He was diagnosed 9 months before then with stage 4 liver cancer. I love my dad...
