Brake reservoir cap loosens by itself?

Sorry for such an exciting thread...

But wondering if anyone has had their OEM front brake reservoir cap become loose over time by itself.

Went for a ride today and noticed fluid all over my tank. The reservoir cap was loose so I tightened it back by hand.

Is this typical?

Have not had that problem. Do you have the little metal bracket on the reservoir? It will keep the cap from coming off altogether.

Yes, have the metal bracket. But the cap was loose enough that it didn't form a good seal anymore so fluid leaked out while riding. It was fairly loose when I tightened it back.

If nobody else has had this happen, I'm afraid I might suspect someone tampered with it.

Ever had it serviced? I had a loose MC cap once (and only once), loose enough that I noticed drops on the tank while riding. After looking up at a clear sky I noticed the cap rotating on the MC. Fortunately I had some water to rinse it off and something to tighten the screws. This was after a service that included working on the brake. As it was one of the best service departments in the area, and no damage done, I sent a private email to the service writer and left it at that.

Duct tape it. Or super glue it tight.
