Are the 1st and 2nd generation 675 fuel pumps interchangable?

Basically I have a 2006 Daytona 675 and due to it sitting the fuel pump seems to have gone bad. I realized one of the connections is no longer good so I ordered a new one only problem being I bought a 2013-2017 fuel pump. The model number for the 2006 is T2401977 while the one I bought is a T2400735. I saw someone say that they interchange the 2nd and 3rd generation fuel pumps all the time, but the float switch doesn’t always work. So I’m just wondering should I cancel the order or will it fit.

I don’t know specifically but most motorcycle fuel pumps are the same. The sending unit inside the tank is the big difference and also the major cost. I found this out when I had to replace the pump on my GSXR600. I ordered a generic one online and when I took apart the sending unit, it was the exact same. Same deal on my CBR600RR, exact same pump, different sending unit. Be sure to change the filter while you are in there.
