Won't shift to 2nd Gear

My racebike will not shift into 2nd or any higher gear. It went directly from my last races last year to the suspension shop that redid the geometry and rebuilt all of the suspension components. Then recently I brought it to my local shop to run through everything to make sure there were no issues. At the time they put Water Wetter in, did an oil change and installed new brake pads. I got it back from them like 2 weeks ago, then today I went to start it up and check everything out.

Problem:

I can shift from Neutral to 1st and back with no issues. But I cannot shift into 2nd or any higher gears. The lever simply doesn't move up, so it's not like it moves but is not clicking. I just called the shop that did the recent work and they are like uhhh, we didn't touch anything related to the shifter. Of course I have a racer practice day Friday and then races Sat & Sunday.

Anyone ever experience this? I'm basically trying to determine A) How to fix and B) Who screwed it up

Well I'm an idiot. To the Question, Who is to blame, the answer is both shops and myself.

The suspension shop did not take note of placement when they moved the linkage. When they put it back on, they did it wrong. The rear of the linkage is actually hitting my rearset preventing it from moving as far as it needs to. It moves just barely enough to go from 1st to Neutral. Shame on them for missing that.

Then the local shop (very highly regarded) missed that completely as well. Shame on them.

And shame on me for posting a dumb thread

I feel dumber for reading this. Glad you got it figured out, have fun this weekend. I'm jelly, I'm not hitting the track for another 3 weeks. Longest winter ever.

Haha, glad I could help. And I've only been out on my street bike twice so far, will be weird to say the least to go right to racing.

Hell I've been commuting since late January, but wobbling around in the rain on a VFR750 isn't quite the same as tearing up a dry track on a 675, is it?
