Bit of a shock in the qualifying of the WSS , D Salom the fastest Triumph in 6th , with Chaz on his tail.

Salmon lost first day on the track and only did 18 laps to record the 6th fastest lap (1'34.873 ). not bad considering last years lap record by sofuoglu was .5 sec faster that salmons lap. Triumph might be in a better place this year ??. ( 2009 lap record 2009 Kenan Sofuoglu TUR Ten Kate Honda CBR600RR 1min 34.320secs)

The first year it was out, the D675 was French SuperSport champion, too bad Triumph didn't help Foray get into WSS, he would've been good. Anyone got infos on where I can watch the WSS / WSBK on the net *winkwink* ? Not even asking for a direct stream

if any of you guys around they world get to see the race , let us know the following. (televised by fox sport in oz and i didn't see what happened).

Chaz davies was running third and posted a fastest lap when disaster struck , heading down gardner straight and cranking over into doohan corner fluid pissed out of the l/h side of the motor covering the track. hence Pirro (i think) went down along with a few others. RED FLAG followed.

Race became a complete restart. Davies never got a good start and seemed to languish back in 12th and 13th. Maybe Chaz got onto a spare bike and it wasn't any good ?. i did notice the r/h side of the fairing on the grid at the restart seemed rashed , so not sure.. Did chaz go down on his own oil??

cheers

Never saw it on the replay unfortunately - looked like a bucketload of oil came out of the alternator cover, then like you said on the restart he had gone down on the right (rashed plastics and scuffed engine covers) - don't knwo if it was a second bike or if he went down, they fixed the problem then re-ran with the same bike. Hell of a lot of oil though!

I think there were a few more falls as well they didn't show too - ordinary coverage.

Hope Vermuelen is ok - hard hit into the tirewall and got stretchered off but no more news as yet.

good to see you posting old dave. Yeah a good day for you wasn't it ??

leeham >>> QUOTE from crash.net . (reference to vermeulen)
Stretchered from the circuit, Vermeulen has since been diagnosed with a badly bruised right leg and a damaged finger, and while no broken bones have been identified by X-rays, he will undergo a detailed MRI scan as a precautionary measure.

Damn, didn't realize that was Chaz's bike that dumped the oil. That really sucks, for it was cool to hear the announcers talking about Triumph for a change.

Great race overall, and a Triumph in 4th place was a nice treat. Just wish it got more camera coverage.

Grid was rather light overall, but I'm sure lots of teams couldn't fit the bill to Australia.

Anyone else check out the Italian chick running the WSS series? Kind of cool, but I wish Mellisa Perez got the seat. That chick is wicked fast, and looks good in a tank top :cool2:

Do you mean Mrs. Josh Hayes, Melissa Paris? While I agree she's pretty fast. I'd like to see her, and Elana Myers, win a national championship, or 2, for the experience. Before going to the World stage.

Yeah, and Melissa Paris ran the WSS race in Utah last year  Who's Mellisa Perez?
