Talking My First Time On A Road Track

I've ridden hard all my life, but have never been on a track before. Just got the bike last week and coming off of an 800 pound Harley. So, still feeling things out. I'm going to need to get a suit and some better boots. But, needless to say I had a blast!

Slowly getting it all together over this winter. Just installed an integrated taillight and fender eliminator. Going to get some frame and axle sliders as well. Then eventually upgrade to a set of DP brake pads and thinking of giving the Shinko 010 Apex. I would like to score another set of wheels for dedicated race tires as well.

A couple of weeks ago I scored a pair of Dainese track pants with 3 rides on them for $60. Knee pucks have never even been down. Come spring time I'll get a jacket to go with it. I probably should just take my pants to work and try on the jackets with them zipped to my pants. Working at a huge powersports dealership is a blessing and a curse.

I've had really good luck with Shinkos. Most people that talk bad about them haven't even ever ridden on them. I've ridden on multiple different sets of dual sport tires and ran the 777's on my Road King. And I will tell you while they are not high mileage tires, the rubber they use is super tacky and handles exceptionally well. So, curious what their sport tires have to offer. Plus, I get along really well with my Shinko/Western rep.

It's a learning curve, but a lot of fun at the same time. You just need to practice.

And practice and practice and practice and ...

Congrats dude! The addiction is real, I've decreased riding on the road so much once track days started.
