Oil Filter for full Akra Race exhaust

Hey guys, I've got the full Akra on my 2009 Daytona, and it's track only. The track I go to banned the K&N filter which worked pretty well fitment wise but now I have this wix filter that won't fit easily without removing the headers. I had to basically crush the old one to get it out/off, and almost ruined the threads on the motor side.

Anyone know what filter will work with the Akra race exhaust well?

Stock Triumph filters. Been using them with a full Akra for 7 years.

I'm in Oz, so maybe different options from you. I've ordered from eBay, dealers, and Jack Lilley in the UK.

Interestingly, the last half dozen I received have a different part number, and seem to be slightly shorter, so they fit more easily. I think it actually said "supersedes T1218001" somewhere. Search the interwebs for that part number, and you'll find suppliers, you can usually get them cheaper by buying in bulk.

The original filters are a bit of a tight squeeze, but not so tight you need to worry about bunging up threads or anything. They've protected my engine for 16,000 track km so far with zero issues.

Why would they ban an oil filter?

Likely problems with the o-ring. If a poor quality filter ruptures and dumps oil, the risk is to other racers.

There is a nut welded to the top of the k&n filter. The nut weld would crack and send oil all over the place. Not sure if it is fixed.

If you can get them, I use the RP-204 from Supercheap Auto. Same design as the K&N filter.
