Call your local dealer and have them run the VIN for recalls. Historically the electrics in Daytona's have been the weak spot, (Stator, Regulator/Rectifier) but that may have been taken care of in second gen. I have owned first and third gen and most of my friends have either first or third gen.
If you don't already have an exhaust, I'd grab one and let that triple howl. A slip on will do just fine but there's a member that makes de-cat headers (Search the forum) and I plan on getting one. Helibars seem to be a VERY popular mod to first/second gen as well.
