Turns out that I not only saved the manual to Google Drive, but I also PDFed a how-to thread from this forum so I could print it out for when I did the job.

I did see the mention of stiffer springs from what yoyo sent me last night. I'll stick with stock. Parts and tools are ordered. Might have some time next weekend to tackle. First thing is to pull a couple parts out of spare blown up engine.

Just looking for some clarification here. To get to the detent wheel and shift mechanism. I will need to remove the outer basket. Does it basically just wiggle out? I know it engages with the oil pump on the back side. I guess it just slides off the bearing.

Sorry, did mine in 2013, and I can't remember what I had for breakfast.
No problem. These questions might be better pointed towards
@MacBandit
.
In addition to that questions, how do I safely remove the detent wheel from the drum? I pulled the shift mechanism and detent arm out of the donor motor and wanted to pull the wheel as "practice" but I dont want to damage anything in the process of prying it away from the drum. Thanks for all the help, guys! I'm feeling more confident once all the parts show up to complete the job.

The factory pro shift star instructions say you can pull the star off with pliers but I can't seem to get it to budge. I dont want to pry against the drum bearing. Any ideas?

I don't know if there's enough space, but could you get a bearing puller in there?
