CEL - P1614

P1614... The bike has the race ECU and harness that i purchased from another member. Bike starts ups and runs perfectly, but its throwing the CEL and code P1614. All the equipment is from on 08 and went onto my 08... when we clear the code, it goes away for a bit and then comes back but doesn't appear to affect the bike in any other way... for the love of god, how can i get rid of this code once and for all

From the manual.

ECM or tune is incorrect, causing the ECM to be disabled to prevent the motorcycle from being operated

This is also identified by a fast flashing MIL indication, and a disabled engine management system.

Since the bike is actually still running maybe it’s probably either something with the tube that’s corrupted or the ECU maybe has a fault causing it to trigger that fault but not actually have the fault.

I've always gotten the same error code with the race kit ECU (gen 2). I just replaced the ECU, and I'm pretty sure I still get it. I've always ignored it.
