Triumph dealer in Austin finally fixed mine.

1. They weren't aware of the recall.
2. No loaner bikes/transport provided. Figures.
3. Took 3 weeks to get the part and when they did get it they didn't even call me. Had to call them back to find out the part came in to schedule the date/time. Then, a week later they call me "Hi, your part came in, lets setup an appt"

I've been down to the dealership 3 times (twice to order a part) and every single time I feel like I'm being treated like a dirty sock in a laundromat.

I hate to add to one of these beat-to-death R/R threads, but it really is a travesty that there are so many dealerships out of the loop on this. To this day, if it were not for this forum, I still would not know about the recall.

Triumph's total handling of this R/R situation has been a complete, terrible mess. It's unfortunate, as they seem to be doing everything else so good right now.

It's not Triumph that's the issue. A good dealer will check for new service information on Triumphs dealer site every day. Also Triumph has sent out notifications to registered customers. If you didn't buy the bike new then it's up to you to notify Triumph that you are the current owner. If you did purchase it new and didn't get a notification then it's because the dealer didn't take the time to enter your information when they reported the sale to Triumph. With cars this is a legal mandate. With bikes it's apparently not because it's very commonly missed.

Agreed. I'm in the automotive industry and we'd get spanked hard by NHTSA if a recall was handled like this, lol. I did buy my bike new, as far as I know it was registered properly with Triumph, as I've been getting all their propaganda, surveys, ect., including an after-sale survey when I got the bike. But I never received a R/R notice.

In the auto business, customer complaints filed with NHTSA are the first step in generation of a recall. Companies, including Triumph, can generate one proactively through NHTSA as well, and generally is looked upon much more favorably versus being ordered to by NHTSA. If NHTSA orders it, it's not good as severe penalties are usually doled out.

This applies to motorcycles as well but it's the dealers that seem to be negligent about all this. There are two different things that need to be registered. You were clearly registered with marketing but it appears you were not registered as a vehicle owner with Triumph for warranty purposes.

I got my D675R from up there. My wife and I were so unhappy with the way we were treated up there that we almost went to Houston to get one, but in the end we went to them cuz they knock the $500 off for the military then they matched it. So ended up getting $1000 off the bike.

No longer a "silent" recall:

"The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration has announced that Triumph Motorcycles are recalling 2006-2009 Triumph Daytona 675 models as well as 2006-2009 Triumph Street Triple and Street Triple R models.

According to the NHTSA, the “regulator/rectifier can overheat and prevent the motorcycle form charging. Once the battery is fully discharged, the motorcycle may stall.” If the motorcycle stalls, the likelihood of an accident goes up greatly, and greatly increases the risk of injury or death for the rider.

Triumph has announced that they will notify owners of the recalled motorcycles and are offering a free replacement of the regulator/rectifier.

It hasn't been silent since August when the recall officially started.
