From left to right it's SMA for active GPS antenna, CAN Bus & 12V power, then Mini USB and SD Card right under it.

Thanks Vincenzo.

Been trying to get rpm and gear off of the ECU which is pretty slow(old tech). I've been toying of the idea of using this (http://www.reconinstruments.com/products/jet/) to display just gear and rpm. It runs android so I got a GoPoint BT1A(also OBDLink LX Scan Tool just incause). I requested source codes since GoPoint requires a NDA.

But If I can tap in to the instruments. then I can probably send the info directly to the recon and the recon can process all the stuff instead of having to read ecu codes.

Have you've taken a look at this? freematics.com

@vincenzo
In all your fiddling with the Dash you haven't found some magic way to run the bike without the dash plugged in?
old bike or new bike

The way is not so magic (I have access to all the communication between the dash and the ECU), but I haven't had time/need to figured out what all is needed to run without the dash.

As soon as they start producing side panniers for the 2013+ Daytona, I will convert the old one for track-only use & will look into how to get rid of the dash.

I build all my hardware myself, so I don't know about freematics.com ... anyway, all you need to connect to the dash is a CAN bus 'reader', any OBD-II device will do. The challenge is to get the software "chain" right.

With the dash <-> ECU bus you can get the RPMs and gears rather easily, just a matter of parsing few bytes of data.

Hi there,
I have followed your process for some time now.

Did you have time to identify the IDs for engine RPM, throttle positioning etc?
This website mentions there are 9 IDs on the Bus: https://www.race-technology.com/wiki...phMotorbikeCAN

At the moment I am using the K-Line to log some data, but its rather slow at 60ms per request.
I am thinking on switching to the Can Bus...

Hi, has anyone had any luck figuring out the seed/key algorithm?

Hi. Do you have the part number for these connectors?
