But then why label it "history"? If it's a history it should show progression through time. He could have used all the same tunes, but put them in order so that Van Halen isn't before the beetles. Dude's obvious talented... jus sayin'.

It is in a chronological order. I didnt see Van Halen before the beatles. He pretty much lumped everything together by decade. Maybe one song technicaly was released before another but it was still from the same decade and influenced the music of that time period. The only artist he plays more than one song of that isn't back to back or only a few songs apart is Santana. That's only because of how long that guy has been making hits. He played Black Magic Woman and Smooth but he played them during there respective decades because they were both rock hits but at different times.

on another note...
I thought this was really cool. Him changing tunings right in the middle of playing was my favorite. Picking up the slide and switching from pick to finger picking also showed great talent. Also now I need to learn how to play stranglehold. Great song.
