Reinstalled stock wiring harness now bike won't start

In another thread I started I was working on a creating a track day harness out of a replacement harness I bought from eBay. I know that the replacement works because I tested in the bike prior to modification.

Each time I did a mod on the replacement, I would reinstall to the bike to make sure that the bike would still work. I got down to removing the alarm accessory, I cut out most of the wires except the ones I was asking about here

https://www.triumph675.net/forum/sho...d.php?t=247983

reinstalled to make sure it still worked. Then I followed those last 4 wires their origins and joined to simulate the jumped wires from the alarm clip. Reinstalled and the bike wouldn't start. After much analysis and cursing, I decided to reinstall the original stock harness that was in the bike and worked perfectly before I starting this whole project....

and it won't start. I get power to the instrument panel etc, but no crank.

Checked all the possible things that could prevent it from starting (clutch switch, side stand switch, soleniod ok, relay ok, battery, starter ok) and still no progress. I'm at a loss. Any one have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

So now after going through many diagnostics yesterday, today the instrument panel just blinks in and out doing weird things. Has my ECU gone bad? How does this happen?

Does the fuel pump turn on? Is your harness grounded to the frame? What is the battery voltage?

The fuel pump did turn on at first, now it doesn't. Yes, the harness is grounded to the frame. I have a few spare batteries on hand, and when one gets low, I replace it with a fully charged one.

Do ECUs just go bad?
