I believe its spring loaded to hold open so you shouldn't need to do anything.
By the way, on a 2010 you should be able to just disable the sensor using tuneecu and not need a servo buddy. Either way works though.

Thanks for that mate. I did look at tune ECU but the servo eliminator was the cheaper option and im in a remote part of the world with little to no help when it comes to sport bike tunes.
I assumed the springs would hold it closed, not open. SO that actually helps a lot.
