Definitely the 1.0 pitch and as someone said, they dont have to be a certain length as long as you get enough threads to bite.

If you have a GPR steering damper, they will come with bolts.

That is exactly right as shown in the pic. You just undo the hose and drain it. I ran water through a garden hose through it and flushed it out quite a bit.

Just my humble opinion - too much is often made of age of tires. As long as they have been stored in a dry environment with moderate temps, tires will be perfectly fine for years.
