I haven't noticed any fogging. Vibration tends to make them rotate slightly in the reflector which messes up the shape of the beam if you don't secure the wiring adapters.

The "heat diffusing bands" look interesting. One (big) issue I have with the VLED setup is the length of the heat sink... the forks hit them before the frame stop on my 2011.

The port itself is waterproof. The rubber plug on the tether is just to keep dust out when not in use. There's a rubber gasket underneath, too.
