Maaaaaan this has been a long winter. For a while I thought my SY 675R would never turn a wheel again. I got taken out in qualifying during our last race round in September, hit a wall and just about everything on my bike exploded in varying directions. I was lucky and walked away but my poor bike was mangled beyond recognition. I got home Sunday evening and just left everything in my trailer until October. Made me sick to even look at it.
A smarter man would have gotten another bike and started over again, but I decided to be stubborn and rebuild it. Too sentimental, I guess. Took the bike down to the bare frame and ended up with a pile of broken sh¡t, most of which I eventually threw away. The engine, swingarm, suspension and rear wheel survived, and that's about it.
After a few months I had finally gotten together all the parts I needed, then COVID hit and I couldn't make it into the shop to work on it. Pure torture.
I started reassembly in April and got my bodywork out to my painter. Had it 99% built, hit the start button and....no start. It cranked over fine but would occasionally backfire and not start. The ECU gave me an injector error code so I did some troubleshooting, worried that maybe my race ECU was bricked (again), but it turned out to be a faulty Power Commander. Just my luck, TuneECU cracked the race ECU just a couple months ago, so I tore out the POS PC5 and copied the map straight to the ECU. Bike is back together, runs great, and I'm headed to the track on Monday. I'm happy the way it turned out; I'd say it's even better the second time around.

It's winter and I'm back to scheming again for the upcoming race season. Thanks to @Shamrock for the push. Gonna try to install these in the next week or two, adjust valve clearances back to spec then hit the dyno. I'll be sure to post the results.
