KTM RC8R opinions?
Jun 29, 2014 - 10:04 PM - by Dcocci
So I was at my local KTM dealer yesterday, and for the first time ever I saw a RC8R on the showroom floor. First thought- Such a mean looking bike. It sucked me in immediately, and I spent about 15 minutes looking over the bike before I even sat on it. I then swung a leg over and I thought it was extremely comfortable, even for me at a height of 5'6". By comparison, the 2014 R1 next to it was nowhere near as comfortable. Needless to say at this point, I was very impressed by what I saw and felt. The sales guy mentioned that it's actually an easy bike to ride, and most importantly, he'd be willing to bend on the OTD price just to get rid of it, as apparently they don't sell many of them. So, does anyone have any experience with this bike? How is it in the real world? How is it on the track? Do you wish it had some sort of electronic gizmos like a quickshifter or TC? Thanks for the input!

Rode an MV Agusta F3 800 today
Jun 21, 2014 - 4:57 PM - by Renboy
All I can say is wow. I'll start with the dislikes because it's the longer of the two lists:

Dislikes:
1. Stock pegs are slippery as hell, they have almost no traction what so ever.
2. Not a fan of the headlight design.
3. I wish the tach was analogue. I'm fine with everything else being digital, but I very much prefer to actually watch that needle swing.
4. Limited color choices.

Likes:
1. Everything else

Unless something drastic comes up, that will be my next bike when I'm finally done with the Daytona. Although the engine doesn't feel quite as smooth as the Daytona's, it has a lot more punch. And although I don't really mind being raked forward, the ergos on the MV are just comfortable enough to notice the difference. For the inseam challenged riders, it sits probably a good inch lower than the Daytona. I could easily flat foot this bike. Handling is very similar to the Daytona (though I... [Read More]

Fun weekend aboard my new Daytona
Jun 15, 2014 - 3:59 PM - by RyGuy612
RyGuy612's Avatar I celebrated my birthday this past Thursday and had planned a fun weekend with my new bike. So I installed my apex stand spools and put some stickers on. Then I rode to devils lake in baraboo Wisconsin for some amazing twisties. Racked up almost 400 miles this weekend. Had a blast.
