My New Paint Job for 2013 (finished pics added)

So I started this a few weeks ago and even though its close to being done now I figured I'd share with you.

Decided to try my hand with some carbon fiber. Mistake one... lol. I had done some work with fiberglass in the past, mostly small bits, and figured this couldn't be all too hard, boy was I wrong. I ended up having to change my original idea a bit because the cf got screwed up, anywho, here are some pics.

The almost finished product.

After adding some filler to smooth out the edges and rough spots

Primer

Mixed up my own color of red (not really anything crazy, just some bright red and a bit of black to darken it up)

Got all the red base coat sprayed

Added a metallic mid-coat

And here is the carbon reveal (still needs to be cleaned up from the tape and wet sanded).

Next step will be to wet sand to 2k and finish it off with a clear coat.

I also plan on having the lines where the paint meets the carbon pin striped with gold leaf, the wheels will be finished in either black or gold (haven't yet decided), and the seats are being re upholstered in a carbon look cloth.

This is the one piece that got screwed up, should still be fixable with the gold leaf.

Very cool concept. The seats came out great. I am not a fan of how the tail and tank turned out though. The color is nice but it seems like some steps were missed after the carbon laying process.
