Triumph First Gear Race Kit

Ayone that has installed the taller first gear kit know what part number they ordered? Triumph lists two numbers. Is one just the gears and one include something else?A9618065 and A9618065 are what they list.

I'm pretty sure this is only for the 1st gen motor.

Even so, I'd be very surprised to find one in stock.

065 seems to be just the output gear. 066 is the whole kit. Check here:

But Triumph also sells the input kit individually, ending in 064. Check here:

Ah now I get it. The input shaft and output gear are available on their own as spares.

If you want to order the input shaft and output gear as a set, your are forced to buy the race wheel detent as well. Not to sure why you would require the kit detent wheel......

You may want to consider a 09+ motor, which already has the better gear package. Other benefits as well.

Again, unless one happens to be sitting on the shelf, you're not going to find it for sale. They stopped making a lot of the 1st. gen only race parts some time ago. Just not cost effective to support it (very low production runs and demand).

Hell, I had trouble getting 2nd gen race parts from Triumph!

Oh I'm deeper than first gen.... It's also a ST motor.

I'm gunna use it, because its what I have, and its in excellent shape.

I get a kick out of taking the hard route....

And your right on parts... Takes forever to get anything out of Triumph!

Yea, but just think, you'll be paying $800US on a part for a motor that's worth maybe $500 tops.

For $900 or so, you can have a much better motor with the same gearing and all the other advantages of the 09+ design.
