Default Difference in daytona tails?

I have a project for the winter and it involves a daytona rear end, and i was just wondering if there is a difference between an 09 rear fairing or a 12? I know the front changed a bit, but for what i have planned, will an 09 fairing fit a 12 rear sub frame? Thanx

The earlier models are prehensile - this was dropped in the later incarnations.

Prehensile? Was the 09 considered prehensile, or no?

I don't know what bike you are asking about, but if it is the Daytona, then yes they are interchangeable. I know nothing about the Speed Triple though.

I was talking about a Daytona tail. I have a street and have begun piecing together what i need for the Daytona tail. I was concerned that the 09 rear fairing i got would have fo be returned if it was different.

I have no idea if any Daytona tail will fit on the street. Let us know how it turns out.

Daytona tails will fit, but it requires a Daytona rear sub frame. A little more to buy then i had originally anticipated but it will set my street apart just a bit more.

My passenger (wife) prefers the prehensile tail though sometimes she said it would tickle. She does, however, like the extra grip it provides....
