Sprocket question

Hey, are there any swingarm / chain guide interference issues with running a setup like 14/42 or 14/43? I've searched around and no one is really doing it on this bike but it doesn't seem at first glance that there would be interference issues.

What's the reason for dropping down to a 14/42?

14/42 = .33
16/47 = .34 (stock)

The gearing change is insignificant and would be hardly noticeable. Top speed would be a little more then -3mph from stock.

It might be useful however if you are trying to change the chain angle or relative position in relation to the swingarm and thus drive out of corners.

Maybe a 15/44 would be a good medium. It's what I usually run on my bike. No clearance issues thus far.

I take it you're going for reduction of rotational mass?

Either that or the theory that there is less waste in a slower turning chain. I'd guess you would get some serious rubbage on the chain guide.

That and I think big sprockets are ugly.

You'd have to run a shorter chain...16/45 was the smallest I could run on stock # of links/swing arm length....
