I would like to think that the Daytona doesn't normally have such a horrid beam pattern... is this normal? Does your headlight beam pattern look like this?

Yep. Mine points down exactly like yours. The high beam isn't much use...
New bulbs are on their way and then I'll see if it can be adjusted better. |

This bike has some of the worst headlights I've seen. Just have to acknowledge that. And get HID's if you don't already have them (can't see pics). They help tremendously.

Mine are stock. For some reason my head light pattern looks like a decepticon symbol to me.

think I have mine aimed too high. got 35w 6000k kit and they are bright as crap and light up ERRYTHANG

You will get flare up. Easiest way to check is get a flat area get a mate to get in his car and point the lights at him. If you can see his face light up heaps... lower them make sure the bike is level.
I heard that TWW wears a helmet light because he always has his front wheel in da errrr
