my two cents

I've been running Pirelli SBP's. all season. I'm an Fast intermediate, and got 14 trackdays/races out of a set on warmers always. the front slides very predictable. was sliding it frequently in turn five @ Barber a couple weeks ago. all it took to bring it back under me was a slight positive thottle. They are very confidence inspiring for a 1st yr racer/tracday rider.
As a side note I switched to Pirelli Super Corsa SC's sc1 fr. sc2 rr. and knocked 3sec off in two sessions.

Let us know how the Pirelli SC slicks hold up compared to the red stripes--our local Pirelli tire guy here said the SC slicks can last just as long (plus, he said he could mount them reversed to get more mileage out of the less used side, as here in Seattle, most tracks are left-turn predominant)...

I ran the red stripes last season. I would recommend them to a mid grade B and below, but as a "A", I was drifting all over the track (front and rear).

I ended up making a $6k+ mistake that I know full race slicks would have stuck with. So, never again. I'll pay for the real race tires from now on, thank you very much.

I'm going to start control riding now so I think these will fit the bill. Thanks for the awesome review Tooble.

I agree, these are a great choice for a control rider or a Level 1 or 2 instructor...especially if you have a tire machine to swap out for good tires on play days

Oh yeah for sure. I'll have some Supercorsa SC's for play day

Or a second set of rims. Or a third set, if you have rains.

I think I'm starting to see why I feel like I have less disposable income these days....

A second set of rims is definitely on the wish list. Some track fairings have priority for me though.
