Ok sounds good to me. All I have is a tank bag right now and looking into saddle bags. I have a nice 3 man tent from Marmot so I dont mind camping as long as it all stays attached on the way down and we are able to set up and go out and ride without all the bags and then back to the campsite.

That's four of us so far. Any preferences. Inexpensive and tents or stay at some kind of lodging?

Preferably both. I'd like to get a good nights rest before hitting the tail...

Was at the gap last Thursday tell Sunday. Second time there, first real roads for the daytona.
http://www.photoreflect.com/store/Or...po=878&pc=1434 http://www.photoreflect.com/store/Or...po=881&pc=1434 I know, need to get my head out where mirror is and I was working on that but failed that time lol here is shot of me and friend (he has street tripple r and me the daytona 675R) leaving the gap http://www.photoreflect.com/store/Or...o=2351&pc=2379 but for the fun part, when on the cherohala skyway headed away from Robinsville, another daytona 675R was headed towards it. I later found that same Daytona 675R when I was trailering through gap on way home. The person passed us and we got it on video. but here is picture of this person. Was one of the late afternoon bikers on the gap. So technically 2 Daytona 675R's on the gap the same time, one just was on a trailer lol http://www.photoreflect.com/store/Or...o=1370&pc=1434 and for a little more fun http://www.photoreflect.com/store/Or...po=522&pc=2682 All 3 bikes here are my friends and myself. We did a little parade through the gap with our friend who crashed his crb125 the first day in gap with knee down. He was flying in the gap. a mirror was left on the tree of shame but the event is on video. Note full race leathers, all he did was a small fracture, so a boot on leg for a few weeks. I am down for any style be it camping or lodging. Just as long as I know before hand to prep accordingly. I just put my leave dates in the book so good to go.

I'm headed to the Dragon Jun 30-July 4. Should have us home in time to still make firework shows. (If anyone wants to join for that, hit me up.)
If you guys are camping, hit the Kickstand Lodge, 11 miles from the Dragon. Best place I've ever camped, motorcycle or otherwise. http://kickstandlodge.com/ This year, we're doing it in 2 legs, stopping on the first night at Willeville MC campground outside Roanoake, packing up in the morning, and moving to Kickstand. Never been there before, but it should be fun. http://www.willvillebikecamp.com/ |
