I had a friend blow the motor in his 07 when it was 3 years old, were just cruising along. I think a rod snapped, but don't remember. I know he hadn't done the revised oiling mods.

I have done them, and have about 17k miles on my 08. Been tracking it for 3 years now, and starting to race this year. I have the rev limit reduced to 13,425, but do hit it somewhat often. No issues so far, but can't say I'm not expecting it at some point.
Bump for this question - what's required to dump a gen 2 motor into a gen 1 frame?

Ride at NJMP? I'll trade track days for parts. PM me if interested.

Note that it's a 2013 2nd gen motor, not a 3rd gen, but as the guy on reddit said, it was a really easy swap; he even used the same ECU.
