Sport Rider Magazine Senior Editor and former AMA 250cc Grand Prix racer Andrew Trevitt was seriously injured in a street crash while testing tires on Angeles Crest Highway in Southern California Monday.

The crash happened when a car made an illegal U-turn in front of Trevitt.

Trevitt was transported by helicopter to Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena with facial fractures, damage to his T3 and T4 vertebrae and a possible broken pelvis.

Trevitt currently does not have feeling in his legs. His prognosis is unknown.

From another forum edit:
He's still in ICU. If you wish to send flowers, you can set it up through the gift shop at (626)397-5000. They will deliver them to his room once he's moved.

Cards can be sent to:

Andrew Trevitt
c/o Huntington Hospital
100 W. California Blvd.
P.O. Box 7013
Pasadena, CA 91109-7013

I too like his writing skills. I recently purchased his new suspension tuning book, well written and informative. Hope for a fast recovery!

He;'s one of my favorite moto-journlist-personalities too... Super sucks...

thanks effing cager for making an illegal u-turn on a road not at all designed for such stupid things... I hope they get sued to hell and back by Trevitt, Sport Rider, and the entire Motorcycling community.

I hope to god he hasn't gone paralyzed...

I was up on ACH the day before, getting one last ride under the belt out there before the snow comes...

I remember when Trevitt got hired at Sport Ryder magazine about 5 years ago. He didn't know how to ride very well and crashed a test bike in his first test. He thought he would be fired. Now he's wrinting suspension articles. Seems like it was yesterday. Hope he recovers.
