I'm on a mission.

For those that don't know Kentucky has an honor given out to famous people and more importantly people that make a positive impact on the lives of others. It's called Kentucky Colonels. It's the highest honor that can be given out by the Governor of Kentucky. The most famous recepient of which most people know of is Colonel Sanders. However there are a lot of very famous people that are Kentucky Colonels that you probably know of but don't know that they have that honor. One of which that I find personally satisfying is Betty White. There is no requirement to become a Kentucky Colonel other than being 18 years of age. So you don't have to be born there.

Coincidentally I learned about this honor a couple weeks before Nicky's accident. After his accident I checked their roster and can't find any mention of him. I find this a huge and nearly unforgivable oversight. He is the Kentucky Kid after all and his achievements more than merit his reception of this award not to mention it being his home state. So it's my mission to ensure this honor gets bestowed upon him. You all could help by sending messages to the Kentucky Colonels organization encouraging them to include him.

Good luck with that. Our Governor is a lame duck, that if it doesn't serve HIM, it doesn't get done. You have 0% chance to get him on the list.

<---known about KY Colonels for years, since I live here. :P

How about starting a petition on change.org ? Just share the link over here and let's put some "international" pressure on that lame duck's neck... Nicky is the King of Kentucky!

Reading their website it doesn't sound like it's up to the governor. It sounds like it's up to the organization and the governor is just the official whose name goes on it.
