I know that topic of color matching gear to the bike has been done to death, so I wont ask that. What I do wonder is this: Do you match bike manufacturer to your gear?
I see a lot of Ducati riders riding with Ducati jackets, same with Aprilia and Suzuki. Do you do it for your Triumph?
To me it looks a bit silly, but wondering what the thought process is for others.
I've got the Alpinestars 2 piece Triumph suit for the track. Had been searching for a suit and a forum member had it for a reasonable price. Thought the Triumph branding was kind of cool, but not the reason I bought it.
I have a triumph jacket I bought for $50 shipped brand new with tags. It's a tempest model original retail was like $175.
Nice textile jacket, full armor even a real back protector. I didn't buy it cause of the logos I bought it cause it was a great deal on a good jacket.
If you think I look silly while on my triumph, how do you feel when I wear it on my kawasaki or honda?
Nevermind,I just remembered. I don't give a shit what you like😉
Well your reasoning makes sense. This is why I asked partially as well. There are few jackets I am looking at and one is Triumph, so thus the inquiry. If nothing else, it was just a point of conversation, I dont care if you dont care what I like :cheers2:

I had all black and red Icon gear that I used with my first bike, then I bought the Daytona. Not long after that, I decided to actually go for safety and researched a lot of stuff. Decided to go Alpinestars this time around.
Since I was basically going to buy all new gear, I matched it to the bike and just went mostly white with some black and red accents. Just like the Daytona 675R. My friends, and one friend in particular, still harass me to do this day thinking I changed out all my gear specifically to match the new bike.
They never consider that I went from shady Icon gloves, a worthless mesh jacket with no real protection, and ankle boots to leather gauntlets, full length race boots, and a 1.3mm leather jacket stuffed 24/7 with a large back protector and chest inserts. It's only...there was nothing wrong with your other gear, it was fine! Uh...right.
In my head, since I was upgrading to BETTER gear...why not just match it to the bike? Am I suppose to intentionally buy different colors so it doesn't match? There wasn't really much of a thought process. My bike is white, white is also easy to see, white gear it is.
I've got a couple Ducati jackets and several pieces from Dainesse, all good stuff but I bought it all at great prices because I find great deals while at the Ducati shop or while doing "Ducati" searches. Once you start visiting Triumph shops and running "Triumph" searches on craiglslist and Ebay stuff will jump out at you that is too good of a deal to pass up
I don't match to the bike but to safety and that's all I care about. High visibility colours (red/orange/yellow) at least partially, etc. Going to spring for an adventure style jacket for heavy rain days. It won't match a sportbike but I couldn't care less. My friends always bugged me about looking like Jason from the Power Rangers. Oh well.
My gear is branded for my channel (or actually the channel was branded based on my gear) as 'Spacep0d', so that has its own theme. I do own a white bike and though goes with the theme too. Beyond that I'm not trying to match brand names, but the suit is custom and the bike doesn't have prominent brand graphics so we're matched, but only for color and style.
I will probably add 'Spacep0d' branding to the bike soon since I can cut my own stickers.
It sounds like you may have some stiff competition, so we'll have to wait and see.
A friend of mine who sold his D675 few months ago offered to give me his old Triumph leather jacket if I wanted it (since he doesnt use it any more, he has Aprillia now and bough matching gear lol) Not sure what model it is, and details. I just hope it has 360 zipper so that I can use it with my leather pants. I saw that some dont have this option, so we shall see how that works out.
I do need some new gear, as my 2 piece leathers are now having some issues, so hoping to stumble on some good deals here or on CL or fleeBay
I had a black bike, army green textile jacket, lime green gloves, and a red helmet. Just happened that way. But I don't see an issue buying it to match if given the choice. I do think its lame if you pass just because of its color alone.
I'm more a function over form kind of guy.
I like to match the rash on my leathers to the rash on my race fairings.
But when it's time to buy new leathers, I do match the colors to my bike, because why not. You get to pick.
Also RST is based in England so that is extra cool.
So I picked the red/white/black RST leathers to match my 675R. I had to buy new because my old mostly black AGVsport suit was cut off me by paramedics. But then when it came time to paint my Ninja 300 Utralight, I picked the same colors as my leathers. It was just a $15 rattlecan job anyway.
I just like the blacked out look for my leathers. Logos are hit with black leather acrylic dye. And, in partial to anything Dainese since it fits my body very well and it had protected me in a past accident on the freeway.
Nope... had Joe Rocket when I first got into riding and realized there textile gear was crap. Saved and got some Dainese and been a Dainese guy ever since. On my 4th bike now, 1 Kawi, 2 Honda's, and the Triumph. Could not care less to match gear to the bike.
I match the colors to the bike. I've got a satin black painted street triple, I have a Rubatone ICON Alliance GT and black Dianese jacket/gloves. No shame in color coordination!
I'm too cheap to try and match my stuff to my bike, then again I wear hi viz gear so that it would never match unless I had my bike painted:smile2: But seriously if I could find some triumph gear that matched the graphite of the 675 and needed the gear, I would do it.
Seems a little overkill to me, to wear the manufacturer's branded clothing, a bit 'Harley-Davidson' but you have to wear what works. I owned a Honda CBR and had this awesome perforated Triumph jacket that fit like a glove. Now I have a Daytona and wear an Alpinestars jacket...
I originally planned to buy a black and red CBR 600RR because that's what was available locally. I needed to take a motorcycle course before buying it though, and I needed gear for that.
I found the gear I wanted at the price I wanted, and luckily it was available in all the same colors (black/red helmet, gloves and jacket).
Then the bike I was going to buy fell through, but a Blue and White (see avatar) Daytona came up for sale at a steal of a price and I knew I needed to have it.
Long story short, it doesn't match the bike at all, but I love the bike to death and I think the colors still work (in a way) because they're all on opposite ends of the color wheel. From what people tell me, it looks pretty badass.
Would I prefer if my gear matched? Yeah, but oh well.
Just after purchasing the bike few years ago I needed a leather jacket and looked to see if anything Triumph branded might be out there used and found this.
I don't match anymore, have several brands of jackets now. This is still my favorite though.
I just bought a new jacket and it came with colour options so I went with white which matches the bike, and for better visibility. Otherwise I haven't color matched anything, it's all just black.
Kinda off topic, but I've heard that having a helmet that is in a distracting colour (relative to the rest of you and the bike) is great for being seen on the road.
I usually won't go out of my way to get brand-matching gear for my bike (like a Triumph jacket while riding a Daytona, Honda jacket while riding a CBR, etc.), but I will try to colour match. It's definitely hardest to colour match with a green Kawasaki though, as the bigger brands don't usually sell neon green gear. Colour-matching a D675R is easy though. It's pretty much just black, white, and red, and pretty much every motorcycle gear brand has something in that colour palette.
