Hey, anyone using these gloves? Thinking of getting a pair. I've never bought new gloves, always used hand me downs from a friend.
Just wondering about sizing, Revzilla says to go up a size, a couple reviews say to order as measured. I have a dainty size 8 hand when measuring, and my fingers are kind of short. Just wondering if I should bump it up, or order as measured according to their sizing guide and hope they stretch?
I have a pair of Titans - not the EVOs though. They're great gloves, though I haven't crashed in them. I am practically a 9 in their size, though I prefer a slightly more snug glove, so I take an 8.5. I have a 9 in the Held Namib and wish the gloves' fingers were just a touch shorter. Not enough for me to try to squeeze into an 8 though (no half sizes in the street gloves).
Revzilla has an excellent return policy if you want to try out a pair.
So, I ended up ordering Handroids because it was $200 cheaper.
I've heard they are a really hard glove to break in, but I'm thinking I may have ordered a size too small I was even talking to a lady at Knox about sizing and they recommended the small for me. Well, finger length is ALMOST good in them. I can touch the end of them when gripping the clip ons, but the fingers are so narrow it feels like it's choking my hand. I kind of feel like the palm is too short length wise as well, width seems okay.
Too bad I put some conditioner on them to try and soften them up thinking they would loosen up. Might have a pair of small Handroids in red for sale soon. Not having a decent store handy and not living in the US really blows.
Can't you send them back?
Maybe not with conditioner...
Same thing happened to another forum member and I picked his up. These are amazing gloves. Only tested them in a slow low side, but I love them!
You do have to have narrow piano fingers for these gloves
My advice would be see TJ about some gloves. The rst pro series are a helluva deal with excellent protection
And stg has the speed and strength pro series for sale right now too
Same gloves eslik wore on the triumph when we won the 200
Definitely can't send them back. The palms darkened up slightly with conditioner so you can tell.
At this point I'm torn between getting them wet and trying to stretch them out or just selling them. Conditioning them won't hurt resale value, but if I go the water route and drying them while wearing them that could. I really do like the aesthetics of them and I had heard that they were hell to break in for other people, and that once they were broken in they were some of the most comfortable gloves.
One issue I'm having is the last joint on my index finger nearly had a blister after wearing them for about 20 minutes and me clenching my hands trying to loosen them up. Seems excessive to me, but I heard about someone else who's hand was actually bruised after breaking his in.
It doesn't help that I've never broken in a pair of brand new gloves before.
I ordered these direct from Knox in the UK as it was actually a better price after exchange and they're the new 2016 version which I couldn't be sure US retailers would have yet. Even if I hadn't conditioned them I probably wouldn't have bothered to ship them back then pay for shipping a third time for the exchange.
So for people who have bought/sold used gloves, how much will I screw the resale value by doing the whole getting them wet/wear until they're dry thing?
definately dont wet them and go that route if you are selling
i would just drop the price some and sell them. someone here or ebay will pick them up quick. it is a quality glove.
if you are getting blisters or bruising from wearing a glove. ITS NOT THE RIGHT SIZE!
dont hurt yourself to 'break in a glove' they shouldnt need to be broken in enough to bruise your body.
Well, that's a bummer. Hopefully I can find a buyer in Canada since it won't be worth it for an American to buy them, or I'd have to take a big enough hit that it will be worth it for them. Overall, I'm into the gloves for $400 CAD, which is $310 US. They're $270 US brand new, hoping I can sell for about $325 CAD, or $250 US, shipped, at least here in Canada where that would be a decent price.
But, the real question is where do I go from here for gloves? I could try ordering a medium in the Handroids, but given the odd fit on the fingers they might not be worth it unless I get a large, in which case they'll be too long. I actually have decently thin fingers, or so I thought until I got these gloves, haha.
Guess I could roll the dice on the Held gloves, but now I'm just paranoid about sizing charts and measurements.
I spoke with a lady from Knox and actually measured my middle finger and she tried on the small and measured her hands and said they were roughly the same size. I was actually worried the fingers would be too long even after talking to her.
