Hi All,
Thank you for having me, I have heard amazing things about this forum. I do not have a Triumph in the stable but it is the #1 bike on my hit list with the #2 being the Yamaha FZ-07. I live in Long Beach, CA and use this bike mainly for a commuter but I do like to have a little fun (twisties every once and a while). Also I drive spirited when I commute, I like to get out in front of traffic before they all try to run me over. Lane splitting is legal here and I do that as well. I have a baby girl at home so I try to do all of the above as safe as possible.
I am on a Kawasaki Ninja 300 now, I love it, its fun, its light, and nimble but the power department is lacking so I am looking to upgrade and both of the bikes listed are ones I want to check out. I am going to a Yamaha Demo day to ride the FZ to see how it feels but there doesnt seem to be any Triumph demo days anytime soon in my neck of the woods.
I am joining this to get a good idea about the bike, everything from upgrades to complaints, common issues, etc. I look forward to absorbing the knowledge here and making an informed decision early next year (hopefully).
Note - also looking to buy used and max budget would be $8k, will most likely be looking for a private seller vs. dealership. The FZ can be had for around $5500-$6k so there is a bigger jump to get the Triumph.
