Dang! You beat me to posting it! I think this is a great move for Ducati. Having someone like Stoner on that machine and Gigi running things will make 2016 interesting.
There's already Facebook rumor talk about Stoner actually throwing a leg over and racing again! That would be great to see. Not a Stoner fan but you can't deny that guys ability to ride a motorcycle!
He will have a chance to wildcard as all Ducati Test riders typically get to at some rounds..
Also don't be suprised if Ianone does not heal up with his shoulder injury, Stoner steps in.. or if Dovi hurts himself.
I get it. He was accused of having help but are his feelings really that hurt? Suck it up. I think just more mind games from JL! If anyone should be upset it should be MM!
Did you read the full article? The title doesn't give an accurate impression of JL's comments. Heck, the comment starts with "I have no problem with Valentino..."
I doubt MM is upset. He's probably proud. I can't think of anyone else who has won a mind game battle with Rossi. That's more 2015 season...
For the new season, I'm hoping Honda makes a decent bike. If so, Honda, Yamaha, and Ducati may be close to the same level. Hell, if Suzuki has more power this year, we could have a 4 way manufacturers competition. Would love to see JL, VR, Iannone, MM, Pedrosa, and Vinales all fighting for the win. Fingers crossed.
In the end it will be business as usual in motogp... Going to be interesting to see how things develop with Michelin Tires... The feedback on them has been some good, some bad.. lot of people have crashed finding the limits thats for sure.
I do not expect Marquez to lessen up any in his aggresive riding style, Rossi I think will be strong and determined, Lorenzo will be Lorenzo sharp as a scalpel precise, Pedrosa will be hurt or have some ailment by the 4th round.
The big question will be how long will Ducati wait to bring Stoner out onto the grid? And will Ianone be healed up?
Some interesting statements and claims by Stoner! I don't see why MM wouldn't want Stoner on Dani's bike?! It would have benefited him in the long run.

Very simple reason, Stoner is as fast if not faster than him and would cost him points in the championship. That is where things are difficult when using Stoner, he is not your average test/development/fill-in rider. No test rider out there has the ability to compete for a win in the dry except this guy.
Big problem for Ducati is neither of their riders has a legit chance at winning the title... Your best guy is a test rider.
That'll be hilarious if Stoner in a WC appearance takes a podium or wins a race. If he does, he might need a bigger podium to accommodate his balls/head (depending on if you're a fan of his or not).

I would bet money he will podium the Ducati if he is on a factory bike for a couple different rounds. Pedrosa is not consistent enough, Rossi is not fast enough, Marquez depending on which version shows up will win or crash out.. Lorenzo with no helmet issues (Switched to Shark helmets) one hard man to beat.
Confirmed by Stoner that if testing goes well with Ducati, then he will make some wildcard appearances. With how much Ducati improved the bike for last season, and working with Stoner testing, we may get to see Ducati be legitimately competitive. Would love to see Stoner come and scrap with MM.

He will be out there for a couple races, I will put $$$ on it.. Dovizioso will be finished after this season if he continues with his 2015 performance, maybe even sooner if Stoner crushes him in his wildcard appearances.
Here is some Rossi love. I think Rossi will be on his game once again and will be a contender for the championship. I'm hoping he works on his qualifying skillset. That has always been his weakness. If he starts upfront then everyone will have a problem. I'm also hoping that the 2015 drama ends, I just want to see good racing again and no more of the MM / Lorenzo love story. I think there will be hell to pay if MM or Lorenzo pull any of that shit again.
I agree with you both. I've always said that the only person who can beat Marc Marquez is Marc Marquez! The kid is a force to reckon with whether he's healthy or injured.
The MAN, THE MYTH, THE LEGEND Casey Stone 27 was out on a Ducati Gp15 and seemed to be in form.. Pre-Sepang testing!
The fun starts in just over 24hours for the rest of the GP circus.
He is in a Testing and "Public Relations" role.. But knowing how things are with riders on the Ducati roster, just a matter of time till he is on a GP or WSBK filling in for someone..
The Rumors are abound about him leaving HRC over not being allowed to fill in when Pedrosa was hurt, I am sure the POS Honda that the throttle stuck open on him at the Suzuka 8hrs didn't help things.
Look who's still crying about something! Don't get me wrong. He earned the title last year and Rossi and his shenanigans sealed it for him but dude! Never happy, this one! I also read that Stoner has the green light to race!
Moto GP 2016 Need some Attack Performance Rearsets PLEASE
YES.... this season seems lie its going to be awesome...
Lots !!! Of unfinished controversy of course...
I'm happy they are going for a simpler computer system... will make race more equal and interesting... already pretrucci and viniales are proving it so...
Michelin tires will have a hard job this year...
Love to see Rossi do well..
Ps/ If anyone has a spare or used Attack Performance rear sets for my 2012 Daytona 675r.... Will TRULY appreciate it..
LORENZO, seems to be getting along with the Michelins quite well.. His second rate team mate also seems to be doing well with them..:wink3:
But for sure the field looks to be tighter with the new rules on electronics.
Hopefully Lorenzo doesn't have any helmet issues this year, and takes the title with 2 races left...
Also looking forward to possibly seeing Stoner out there racing...>
JD I know you don't have much love for VR but to call him 2nd rate is a bit of a stretch, he might not win another championship but he still can compete with JL and MM, plus he has won on a 500 2stroke and everything except the Ducati, he is/was the mark that all the other riders strive to beat. I think JL is the best rider out there when everything is working right for him, I think MM can be right there as well, he will show more restraint and take what the bike and conditions give him as he matures. Other riders showing potential are the Suzuki riders, if they get the machine sorted better, MV might get a win, I think he is a really good rider. I just hope there is some good racing like in WSBK, nothing makes for a better show than some back and forth racing.
The season is officially upon us! Just about to watch the Thursday practice.
I'm really excited. I think this season will be much more competitive. The electronics have leveled the playing field some. Suzuki appears to have enough power to contend (and Maverick looks really fast). Dani is healthy and, while inconsistent, can still be the fastest man on the track - hopefully keeping anyone from running away with the championship. We may even see some satellite riders win races this year.
That said, Lorenzo still looks like the man to beat. As I've said before, that smooth, flowing style is a wonder. While Marquez muscles the bike around Lorenzo just looks like he's whispering instructions to his mount. He's not a fan fave, but he's a hell of a rider.
For sure it is looking like there might be some surprises from some other riders..
Lorenzo is without a doubt on form and him being the most consistent not to mention most talented rider on the grid, will be hard to beat..
Iannone has some pace, but he is lacking consistent times each and every lap..
So funny thing is Stoner is there for Ducati, I suppose in a mentoring role? maybe giving Dovizioso some motivation to do better.

Am I the only one that can not find anywhere to watch MotoGP this year? All the sites say that it is on FOX Sports 1, but nothing is listed in the schedule there. I am assuming someone is streaming it, but I can not find anything that has a link (http://www.totalsportek.com/motogp-live-stream/ is the closest but nothing is live yet). Any help would be appreciated. I use to watch it on FOX 1 on Charter, but nothing is listed in the schedule. First we lost AMA coverage, now no MotoGP coverage? Ugh!

Jorge picked up right where he left off. The crazy thing was that he probably could have won by a mile. It looked like he got the lead and just played it safe from there. As soon as Marquez started catching up on the last few laps he turned it up a notch and just ran away from everyone else.
Just like last year, the Duc showed a huge power advantage, but the power just wasn't enough. Also like last year, Marquez showed he's still perfectly willing to make risky passes. When he started going after Dovi it looked like Rossi pulled back in hopes of avoiding any crazy tangles.
I had hoped that the new tires and electronics would even things out a little more, but so far, things like largely the same. Still some fun racing out there and I look forward to the rest of the season.

The problem for sure is more than just spec electronics & tires..
Talent for sure... Lorenzo, Marquez & Rossi, are strong every weekend.. Some of the others have flashes of brilliance but are just not in the same league.
I want to slap the $hit out of the dumb asses at Aprilia who decided to can their WSBK efforts to piss away time & $ in motogp once again..They will never win a race or be competitive..you would think they would have gotten the point after the cube3, CRT, and last years defunct attempt, solidified after the start of this season again.
Qatar never seems to be a useful indicator of things to come. Dunno if that's the sand or the first race of the year, or what. If we were to draw conclusions, the order of things has been shaken up a bit. Ducati looked really strong, but that long straight is definitely why Dovi kept 2nd. It's not odd to see them streaking away on the straights but odd that Honda is closer to Yamaha than Ducati trying to keep up. I'm curious to see if that's a corner exit drive (2013-14 Honda strength) issue that will be fixed as they understand the electronics better.
Honda has always been top of the hill when electronics are brought into the equation.. now they are running what everyone else is..
The only thing that matters is Lorenzo is ahead of Rossi & Marquez in the points,.. Dovizioso is not a title contender.
but yes the Ducati is an odds on favorite on this track, to bad Iannone was a bit to aggressive and pissed away a podium finish, if not the win.
Well, Lorenzo is no longer on top in the points. That track and, what looked like a poor set-up, punished him and several others.
I hope Iannone caught an earful. It's like he's trying his best to live up to the "Maniac" on the back of his leathers - and not in a good way.
Marquez leads the points and chances are good he'll add to that lead in the next race. Nobody has even come close to Marquez at COTA in the last two years.
Oh to be a fly on the wall in the Ducati garage...
