Hey guys, I'm thinking about plasti-dipping my bike but it currently has tank pads on it, and I'm wondering if you can reuse them if you take them off. If anyone has tried or knows if you can, please let me know. Thank you in advance!
Techspecs are designed to removed in the future if needed. Just be careful when you're removing them that you are removing the pad and double sided adhesive together and not the pad without the adhesive. If you remove one without the other the pad is useless, for the most part.
Lol, yea... I've always wanted a white bike 0. Plus, the dude I bought it from was not taking care of the bike... There's some white residue on the plastics that won't come off (No, it's not that white stuff you're thinking of :grin2, and he claims it was from waxing it.... But I call bullsh*t. Kinda made me wanna slap him with a good back hand. But its w/e cause I was thinking about plasti-dipping it anyways (I got them skills with a paint can).
This guys plasti-dip job on his Daytona turned out great...
Techspec will most likely replace the pad under warranty and send you a new set for free. Especially if it was a material failure and not something that happened intentionally (not saying you did anything intentionally, just that that isn't covered under their warranty).
Techspec has a video on YouTube that shows how to remove the pads. You don't need a hair drier. I've removed mine with no issues. They go back on easily as well (assuming you don't get them dirty).
