if you were to own an '06 D675 in Tornado Red, which wheel color do you think looks the best?
---Stock Grey
---Gloss Black
---Gloss White
---SE Gold
---Glossy/Shiny Gold (matched to forks)
...apologies for the bit of consumer research... i'm in the planning stage of a full minty bike build, and will look to sell the project once done to help pay for my wedding. most of the bike will be stock, but i thought PC'g the wheels might add some visual draw and help set it apart. thx in advance for your opinions :smile2:
Powder coating aluminum wheels can be questionable. Some shops will do it and some will not. They go through a lot of heat stress during the baking process. If I was the buyer I would rather them not have been powder coated. Just something to think about.
I have an '08 SE and and I'm a sucker for gold, so that would be my vote . Red and black are probably the best colors to go with SE gold wheels. White may pull it off too.

if you are going to powder coat them, you might take a chance to see if there are other nice color options.
I have seen some nice metallic dark red, or 2 colors wheels...
interesting suggestion, MK6, thx. most projects i'm open to all kinds of ideas, but i want to keep this bike looking close to factory spec (and hopefully just a bit better).
appreciate all the feedback so far! sounds like SE Gold is a winner ...i love the idea too. i don't want to go overboard matching other bits to the wheels, but what about a small thing like maybe the ram-air mesh? would that be a nice detail, or goofy?
I personally love the stock gold color on the wheels. You could also add some gold lettering. Here's my (stock) SE to give you some ideas
