So, after a couple days of research and frustration, I decided to make this thread. There is no one place for 13+ Daytona owners to get exhaust info. The other thread has the old models, and a little of the new model somewhere in the 14 pages. (all of which I went through)

If someone can get me cost and gains, Ill add it to the list. I figured This would be a purchasing list, not a DIY, but I'll add it once we have numbers.

And thanks for the support guys!! I was getting annoyed trying to figure what was all available, and for me, HP and weight were an important part of which exhaust I want. Maybe if I'm lucky and get enough support, this'll get sticky'd. :smile2:

I spoke with Lee Hindle himself on Friday to see if there headers ($524) would be compatible with a Austin Racing slip on. He got slightly mad that people do that. He said my headers are making the power but your advertising a different can. But I told him I don't like your cans aesthetically.

#13 ·
If I had a dedicated track bike I wouldn't hesitate to use the Hindle exhaust.

Hey Bopzx6r, I like those Bodis too but expensive. I'm going to do the MJS route. I already have the Austin Racing can, just need to get the headers done and a pcv plus tune. Might take a few months.

Idd Mac, it's also available with a larger 60mm midpipe, they use it as a part of their own full system (1139 euro) but it is also available separately for 720 euro. Their full stainless system is around half of what the titanium akrapovic is so i don't see what the problem is. It is stainless german made quality exhuast components. Getting a header as soon as i can figure out how to mount the exhuast shield without the oem front mount.

didn't realize that the price was in euros, not pounds. 800 USD for a proper header I don't think is bad at all.

the 6-12 does have its own thread, just not with pricing and power numbers. Its sticky'd.

Item: TDAY-014

Mountable with original muffler also and with Slip-Ons witch are used with the original manifold.[/QUOTE]

Any idea if that will fit with any slip on?? Cause damn that AR is sick!
( guess I could be proactive and call bodies after work and see)

Yea, any slipon that fits the stock header will work with this.

I understand that. It's just what I said though. It's not a mentality I can associate with.

If I had to chose between a slip-on and a proper tune it would be a proper tune every day. The difference it can make in a modern bike is night and day. Once you tune out all the emissions garbage the bikes run so much smoother with far better throttle control. This goes for all bikes road bikes.

Hey BOP. I appreciate it.

I had the dealer update a better tune for me awhile back and it really did make all the difference in the world. Now i branching to a full system and checking my options. I love the Akra. And it's still an option, but I am looking for something maybe even a little more unique and to fit my budget.
( new gear, new tires, new this, and that = the struggle is real with my first world problems. Laugh at my pitty party)
Great knowledge on the forum here. thanks for the consolidated thread

I decided to decat mine and keep the 02 sensor in place while adding an extra bung for the wideband 02 sensor (Bazzaz Z-FI and Z-AFM).

I have the Arrow slip-on with the appropriate tune and kept the exup installed as well. It's still quiet down low and a bit louder after 70% throttle. Also DNA air filter installed.

The bike definitely pulls stronger accross the rev range. Decatting costed me only €50 and it was well worth it.

The attached screenshot is the AFR target map I created for my bike.

carbonfbr is working on one that i helped develop. It's basicly a recut oem heatshield with new bevels that will use a supplied bracket that mounts to the lower frame mount. It's in the testing stage now and will work for third party exhuasts.

This is what we started with, the oem heatshield i recut and painted so expect something similar in terms of looks:

He might bundle it with his LHS shield that you can see on my bike here :

Oj dom är ju jättefina, det skulle ju va perfekt! Jag tycker mycket bättre om din version, speciellt i CF, mot den vanliga plast biten. Skulle va bra om han kunde sälja ett komplett set med vänstersidan också för den vill man ju ha. Vet du när detta ska va redo och kan köpas?

Hej från San Francisco förresten, Göteborgare här men vi kan väl va kompisar trots du e en 08? :)
