Default Battery drained after 2 days of rest

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone else experienced the same problem that I have. On 2 different occasions, my battery drained completely after not riding for the weekend. I "last" rode on a Friday and attempt to ride on Monday. Both times, key was in the off position and not on the parking light option. I have a 09 Street Triple. IS this normal? This never happened on any of my older bikes.

Thanks

when you go out for a ride, are you doing short trips? short trips might not be long enough recharge the battery to capacity from what was loss during start up.

I wouldn't say my trips are that short. It's a daily commuter bike M-F about 16 miles each way from 30-40min each way. This includes freeway travel too.

Load test your battery. Sounds like your battery cannot hold a charge.

Thanks. It's still under warranty. I'll have the dealer take a look at it.

I think the battery is only warranted for 6 month.
But I would still check in case it is the charging system.

Did you charge the battery overnight after the first time it went dead?
