Default Vemar Eclipse Carbon Helmet, opinions?

Was looking at buying this helmet and was wondering if anyone has it or has heard anything about it. Good or bad. I'd appreciate it!

vemar is a good brand....but ask yourself why you're getting the helmet? for looks? for the unique factor? for weight? i only say this because it's a $750 helmet....and you could get a cheaper shoei, shark, and sometimes arai that offers the same or better protection

i have a carbon fiber helmet myself but only because the carbon fiber look was separate to how the helmet fit. if the helmet doesn't fit you, don't bother or even think about buying it. if you have any local shops that sells motorcycle gear....go there and try on helmets. the helmet that will protect you best is the one that fits your head best.

and welcome to the forums!

I'm not a huge fan of the outlandish helmets, wanted something different and something that could match another bike if purchased. Seems to go well with just about any color.

The other big thing, it's on sale for two hundred dollars cheaper than the price you mentioned.

I've tried on all of my friends (shoei, shark, hjc, arai) and I've been to all the local dealers but they only seems to have icon's.. I know for sure what size I am but it's like what you said, I need to find the one that fits best.

Thanks for the help!

if that's the case....go for it!
as long as it's DOT (if you're in the US) ECE / Snell certified...you're golden!

I went with an Akuma helmet. Extremely nice product, and not too expensive either. Not to mention, the Akuma Carbon Fiber helmet is lighter and a lot less expensive than the Vemar Eclipse. (Vemar @ 3.1lbs, Akuma @3.0 lbs.) And another thing to look into, Akuma's visors. Goddamn they make some sexy visors.
