After quite a bit of research here - I'm not finding any concrete direction about what to do in regards to the inner and outer flanges on the throttle tube. I'm wanting to install some new (non OEM) grips (and not the damn 1050 throttle tube - so don't bring it up, lol). What are you all doing with these flanges?
It does not appear that the new grips will slide over these without bulging where the excess material is located. Or am I wrong? Is it best to file these tabs off first?
With a sharp utility knife and a Dremel, it was a piece of cake to just alter an $8 Ebay tube and not mess with the original tube in case I revert back to the OEM-style grip.

I used Honda grip glue to secure in place.
