Hey all,
I've ordered my new 675R and hopefully it should be here in about two weeks (woohoo!). I've got a RAM mount already for it, along with a lifeproof iPhone case which I'm planning on using as a GPS for those times I need help figuring out where I'm going. The only issue I see is that the GPS functionality chews through the iPhones power. As a result, I'm wondering if there is an easy mod you can do (or someone has done) that will allow a charger for the iPhone to plug in. Cheers. |

I have a battery tender cable already hooked up to my battery. I bought the "cigarette lighter"/charger port that plugs right into the end of it, ran it under my tank and have the USB insert in the socket. It comes up between the 2 bolts that hold the front of the tank down. I have the Sterring Stem RAM hardware with the X Mount for my Droid phone and works great.
GPS...Check Bluetooth Earphones...Check Charging the whole time so no dead battery....Priceless!. I'd take pics but it is at the dealer getting the 6000 service. I attached pics of what I used (not mine but from internet) to give idea. Here are the RAM parts I used: Here is what I got, and it holds it nicely. You do have to play with the X-Grip and adjust it right (it can turn about 30 degrees, but if you set it up right it doesn't move at all). RAM Mount Motorcycle Fork Stem Base with 1 inch Ball Qty: 1 ea. Price: $13.95 SKU: RAMB342 MODEL: RAM-B-342U RAM Mount Short Arm B-Socket RAM-B-201U-A Qty: 1 ea. Price: $11.95 SKU: RAMB201A MODEL: RAM-B-201U-A RAM Mount Universal X-Grip Phone Cradle with B-Ball RAM-HOL-UN7BU Qty: 1 ea. Price: $24.95 From GPSCity.com Works great! Sits just over my key (I can get it in and out with no problem).

There are a few options you can do.
Here is what I just installed on my bike. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Motorcycle-U...-/321029251255 Or if you have the money, you can specify the type of connection/adapters you want here. http://www.burnsmoto.com/usb-power-s...atherproof.php I mounted my purchase from the first link just right next to my ignition for my Street Triple. That's awesome, thanks guys.
Didn't realize it would be so easy. I'll definitely hunt around for a battery tender / cig lighter product which will make life easier. If I can't find it then no biggy, I can probably just solder my own up and hook it straight onto the battery. The only thing I'll ask is have you had any issue with wet weather Badiner? I'm trying to figure out how i might water proof it, I'm sure I can track down some type of casing. Cheers. |

Now you're making it hard for me :P I don't know which way I want to go.
I was going to pick up this 12v to 5v converter and this USB Cable to cut out the cigarette lighter adapter. The USB cable also has a cap that can screw on to keep water out. Saying that, the battery tender plug makes it look a little easier than hooking directly up to the battery. Stupid question (My bike is on order, haven't got it yet) do you / does anyone know if the '13 675R comes with a battery tender connection already or is it something you need to add? Edit: Sorry scotty, didn't see your post - that looks awesome also. |

Mine (2011) only came with one because my dealer put it on. The best part of my set up is that there are actually 2 USB ports on the plug I have (not the one pictured). I can have my Phone going as GPS and Google My Tracks (record ride speed/GPS) but also charge an MP3 player or anything else. I never thought I would use the second port but I have on any trip I have done. Just adding to your stress. I like the USB port Scottyyy did. It is clean and nice. I would look into that as well. I have to unplug mine to plug in the battery tender over winter. His set up doesn't need that.

Yeah just purchased one from scotty's ebay link - champion.
Now I just have to figure out how I can get some type of silicone grommet over the base of the iphone so I can have it plugged in and charging in wet weather if I want. I don't think anything like it exists, so I might have to learn some silicone molding lol. |

Make sure you add in a relay and wire it up such that the outlet is only powered when the bike is on. You'll drain your battery very quickly if you forget something is plugged in. Same goes for heated hand grips.

I have this on two bikes, it's awesome. 2 amps means it'll charge fast, and charge even when you're using your phone's GPS with Google navigation. Which might not matter if you have an iNferior phone.
