I use [FLUX] mk2 plates and a modified 675R shock on a Triumph Street Triple. It has lowered the bike, which is nice and it steers well. I have also made changes to the front with a set Daytona '06 forks and Ohlins 30mm cartridges.
If you haven't tried your adjusters yet, you should start with that. Basically note down where you are now, make a change in the direction you wanna go, note your impressions, make another change, note down your impressions... Basically this is just a little work and you haven't thrown money in all kinds of directions. You also get to know more about your bike and adjustments and their effect. Based on this excercise you might find a setting you like and you will be better qualified to make your next purchase.
