r6 calipers vs 675 calipers.

Well the lack of dragging will give you more speed, less pad wear, and less heat build up. Those are all plusses in my book. Some people do washers instead of spaces which is ghetto and not safe. The hardest part is getting the old spacers out. Mine were machined to be like double sided top hats. The spacer is apart of the caliper and pressed in.

You need a 3mm spacer. You can obtain those from TWF racing, ask for Zoran, he'll machine any thickness you need though. Also to get out the old spacer/grommet, just take it to a vice and crush it, it'll come out easy. Takes 5 minutes or so.

The Yamaha monobloc were a little lighter by lifting it with my hand. I don't have a digital scale so I wish I could help out with the weight aspect. Also the Yamaha bolts are hollow compared to the Triumph ones, so they're lighter! You'll need to use Yamaha bolts or aftermarket since the Triumph ones have a fatter shank that won't fit the R6. After having both the Nissin on my Speed Triple and Daytona, I've moved on to the monobloc with a Brembo MC for both.

The Nissins work great, but just don't have the best feel in my opinion.

I personally think upgrading to a brembo MC will give you a better upgrade then calipers in my personal opinion.

If I buyR6 calipers, can I use other R6 front brake components with my Daytona, such as:
1. Reservoir
2. Master Cylinder
3. Brake Lines
4. Pads

I am shopping for R6 calipers and some of them are sold with some or all of the components above, so I am wondering if they will work attached to my Daytona, either as single pieces or all together.

yeah i kinda agree, i got a 06 R6 and 2 675's. Im not sure that there is an outright differnce in braking grunt, but for some reason the 675 feels more comfortable and feels like it does it with relative ease.

Its a fair battle too, as all 3 of my bikes are stock brake setups (ie no brembo here)

Specifically, will a 2012 675R master cylinder work, and would it be just as good, or a good compromise for the money difference?

Seen a lot of postings from you regarding the brakes. Well, pretty much all of your posts are about the brakes, lol. Are your calipers damaged? You can find nice D675 calipers on eBay every day.

What exactly does this mod do? Take the chattering out of the front end, under hard braking, or what?
