Have any of you guys had any luck convincing a dealership to order you the upgraded parts and just give them to you to let you install them yourself? I know the nearest dealership back home in Illinois where the bike is is probably about 2.5-3 hours away, I'd hate to haul the bike that far, and its to cold to ride it right now

Its worth a try, but I'm not to sure about that, ask and c if they have any partnerships with local diffrent brand dealers that can verify what's needed, if ur talking warranty stuff. Never hurts to ask. That's one thing ill be missing when I get over there, proximity to a dealer.

Other than the quickshifter and rear spools which my dealer installed when they were setting up the bike initially, I've ordered a slew of parts from them and just picked them up and put them on myself, including: front and rear brake reservoirs, gear shift actuator, and control levers. I don't think they can legally tell you that you can't do that.

i was able to at the local dealer. showed the ownership so they could check the recall. they gave it to me and i installed it myself.

I'm in kville. When the weather warms up we need to get all of the TN riders on here together for a trip down the parkway and dragon!
