just thought I would let everyone know that my bike is still at the dealer and are sending an ecm. I have yet to been notified what I am responsible for cost wise, which I thought is wierd. Dealer told me they had to pull the whole harness out to check it, thought that was a little wierd too. but still waiting.

Not exactly clear which model year bike you have, so this could be just a shot in the dark. However, "clues" such as fuse blowing when you turned the pump on; and later again when turning kill switch on; and possibly fried ECU - maybe a long shot, but could it have something to do with the fuel pump relay recall not done on your bike?

it is a 2008 street one of the first models available in the us actually came with the flyscreen. As I said it is still at the dealer and haven't really been clued in on whats going on for awhile, haven't heard of a fuel pump relay recall but its possible I guess. We should find out soon enough.

Probably the R/R. I suspect the fuel pump relay issue had been resolved by the time the 2008 models came out. If you post your VIN MacBandit may be kind enough to tell you if it comes under the R/R recall (I'd say almost certainly) and the relay service item.

got a call from the dealer today and they got the ecm in and the bike is running. They told me my battery is fried, front bulbs are blown and my rear brake light is inoperational, and some other stuff that just happens to be wrong with it. Dealer said that triumph was covering the ecm but they still don't know about labor. I would have liked to have been informed of how much I was liable for (including diagnosis) a month ago
. I don't think they needed to do that and I'm sure triumph has a flat rate to test the ecm. Guess we will see tomarrow.

thought I would update with good news. Regulator full fielded and burned up the ecu also burned up the headlights (actually thought that was interesting). So unfortunately I was right with my diagnosis(I was hoping I was wrong for once). Good news is triumph paid for it. The bike is almost 20000k miles old and purchased back in oct of 2007 and triumph still covered the repairs. Triumph is a hell of a stand up company I didn't expect as much as I got from them. I've been a mechanic automotive and motorcycle for 11 years and have never seen this kind of generosity from a manufacturer. Triumph kicks ass.
