Is that Japanese?

No, it's made in England.

Oh, did you have to swap out the right and left bits so you could ride here in the States?

I was unloading my street triple from my trailer after a track day. The plate was off, mirrors removed and lights taped. My neighbor said he liked my dirt bike.
I just let him think he was right, rather than burst his bubble.

So today, I decided I was going to stop sitting on the bike in the garage and making "Vroom Vroom" noises, and go for a ride. (35 degrees didn't seem that bad)

I decide while I'm out that I'll get the parts to do that helmet lock mod, but first I stop at GameStop.

I'm in there talking to one of sales people and a guy walks in.

Guy: Who's bike is that outside?
Me: It's mine. You like it?
Guy: Yeah, it's a Honda right?
Me: Nah, it's a Triumph. Daytona 675, to be exact.
Guy: Oh, ok. How many cc's? Like 500 or something?
Me: Uh, 675.
Guy: Oh, that's cool. I ride too. It's too cold for me though..
Me: So, what do you ride?
Guy: I got a ZX6R. Lowered and stretched 3in. Blue LEDs. Custom white paint. And a whole lotta chrome.
Me: Oh, thats cool...

After that, I had nothing more to say. He then pays for his stuff and leaves. No more than 2 seconds after the door closes, me and the sales guy start laughing hysterically! At least it wasn't a Gixxer, right?

There are 500+ cc scooters that are just fine on freeway and much smaller motorcycles that are not. Drawing lines in sand and choosing sides just seems silly.

Anyone else ever been cornered by an elderly gent, giving it the whole "Oooh, they still make Triumphs? I had a (insert ancient Brit bike name here) when I was courting my Marjorie... etc etc routine?...
