Looks more like the last option although I did have the phone under the seat of the bike, not sure if that would make a huge difference or not. The lines do all look pretty accurate just misplaced.

Yeah, at one of my local tracks, my line is consistently about a meter into the dirt on the south end of the track. If it were inconsistent, I'd think it was the GPS or configuration, but over a few sessions it's like that on every lap, so I feel pretty confident that the imagery in Google Maps at that location is shifted slightly from where it should be. Hopefully it will fix itself the next time they update the imagery.

I noticed that none of the GPS view versions were for Win7, does that matter?
Also, I get error code 404 page not found when trying to click on the GPS view for my BT818xt...any chance you have the program and can host it? thnx! |

I'm running it on a 64 bit Win7 laptop, so that should be ok. I'll put it on Google Drive for you. Won't be for a few days, shacked up at the g/f's until Friday, laptop is at home.

Actually, I found a link that works for the GPS View program, specifically for the 818XT:
http://www.qstarz.com/download.php?t=5&m=BT-Q818XT There should also be a driver and user manual and quick guide on there also... |

For those who like to get their nerd on, RaceChrono is now available for Android. For free. Haven't tested it yet.

When compared to TrackMaster: Pluses: really simple to use, and I like the way you compare laps on it. Can compare specific sections of track easily. No separate app for connecting to a bluetooth GPS, it's all part of the app. Cost is reasonable... like, free. Minuses: No online sync/storage. No display of braking or acceleration on the map (though the speed graph is shown below the map, so it's pretty much the same result). TrackMaster seems a bit more feature-loaded (including stuff I don't use like synching to video), but for basic lap timing with split markers, RaceChrono is simple, effective, and reliable. |

Question about where you positioned the 818XT...
Last track day I had it velcroed to the front right inlay panal, right on the edge just below where your hands are if the bike is pointing straight... good location or do you recommend somewhere else? Data seemed fine... |
