I own these boots and love them! Pretty sure they kept my foot attached to my leg once when I went down. Still got banged up but would've been alot worse if I didn't have my boots on

They offer a similar level of protection however the way in which the protection is engineered in the boots is much different. The Sidi offers most of their support and protection externally and is quite rigid. Alpinestars uses polyurethane armor in the inner boot which they have engineered to offer a bit of natural movement which should cut down on knee injuries. I think you will find the Supertechs R's to be much more comfortable to walk in.
