if you think about it here in the states the min charge if you take ride in the meat wagon is $2,000! If your $600 Helmet, $150. Gloves, $500 Jacket, $300 boots, and pants keeps you out of the of ER it's pretty damn cheap.

Or Even a $1500 suit along with boots and gloves

Love stories like this! Shoei makes a great helmet that's for sure!

Great story. Im glad to hear the rider was ok. I took a face plant with my HJC Rps-10 when I rode off track one time. The helmet was pretty messed up but I wasnt really any worse for the wear. Just shook up from the crash. The very next day I went out and got the same helmet. Im with you guys. ATGATT!!!

This was a while ago but I low sided on my SV, not at high speed, maybe 15 to 20 mph. What was chilling is that as I was sliding my face struck the pavement 3 times. My boot had gotten caught under the tail and it flipped me off my back. My Scorpion Exo 700 too two on the chin on one on the shield. Very little visable damage to the helmet but I knew that a bare face would have ment a really messed up mush. As it was I ended up with a broken thumb from the bars snapping back.

Sounds almost exactly like my story. Went down on my old SV at around 30-35 and had a Scorpion Exo 700 with the faceshield scratched. Scrapes on my knees and that's about it.

I had a modular and X-11. Shoei's helmet shape is narrower, not as much as Icon's. For wider head, Arai fits better.

Nonetheless, Shoei makes awesome helmet; on par with Arai, AGV etc.
